BCPPL presents “The BC X-Division”

The BCPPL is pleased top announce the formation of a new element to our Provincial series, the BC X-Division.

 

 This new division is based on the current worldwide accepted X-ball format adapted by the NXL, PSP,  Millenium series, and the MR series. We will also have all of the elements of a professional X-ball event, electronic scoreboard, full team pits, and a 2008 full NXL/PSP field. Layouts will be based on upcoming PSP events, giving any players/teams (playing PSP) a chance to practice the field in a competitive tournament environment.

 

The new off-shoot series of the BCPPL is the most affordable form of X-ball ever offered. The old X-Ball format used in past years was simply not financially sustainable without huge sponsorships. This new format is just as (or more) exciting and much cheaper for players. Of course you will also see the same quality event players have come to expect from BCPPL/CPPL tournaments!

  

  

This new division will be capped at 8 teams , and will offer huge cash prizes at every event! Because of the expressions of intrest from many teams, we anticipate that we will hit the cap within a couple of days of opening registration.

 

Teams playing the regular BCPPL series will be offered first right of refusal for all eight team spots available.

 

There will be 1 event in 2008, and 3 events in 2009. Teams playing the upcoming July event will be given first right to a spot for the whole 2009 series.....provided they participate in regular BCPPL events.

Location

 

  We are happy to announce that Event 1 will be played at Panther Paintball in Surrey BC. Panther offers a completely flat sport turfed playing surface (used at BCPPL E2 this year) that is second to none.

The game

 

  • -
    • Games will be won when the first team reaches a score of 7 points
  • -
    • Or when 15 minutes of actual game play has expired.  Team with the most points is the winner
  • -
    • If teams are tied at this point, a sudden death overtime of one point will be played.  The winner of this point will be declared the winner of the match
  • -
    • The game clock will stop each and every point. 
  • -
    • Teams will switch sides every 4th point. 
  • -
    • There will be a 2 minute break between each point, for players to reload, and air up. 
  • -
    • 5 Players on the field at once
  • -
    • 10 Players MAX per Match
  • -
    • Teams may roster a MAX of 10 players per event.
  • -
    • No timed penalties – (1for1 - 2for1 - 3for1 will be used)
  • In addition the team will play short for the next points. (1 point 1for1, 2points 2for1, and 3 points 3for1)

Friday July 11th

5:00pm -8:00pm Team field walking

 

Saturday July 12th

8:00am - Doors open (sign-in and paint sales)

8:20am - Captains meeting.

9:00am – 1st Game begins!

 

Sunday July 13th

9:00am – Games begin

3:30am – Awards ceremony

 

 

Team fees and registration


All entry fees are due in full at the time of registration, or your entry will be considered null and void.

 

 The maximum amount of teams we can accept for this event will be 8. Maximum roster size is 10players. Registration is due in full at the time of registration.

All player's must have a 2008 BCPPL/CPPL player ID card to play....go HERE to save $20.00 by registering online. The deadline for online player ID applications is July 8th at 8pm. Players that miss the online deadline, must stand in line and get there card before the tournament starts. Cost for waiting until the last minute is $40.

 

Registration fees are 750.00 per team.

Paint

 

As usual, we will have many of paintballs to choose from. Paintballs will be priced at $60,$70, and $80 per case.

The anticipated average for each team for a whole weekend of X-ball will be 15-25 cases per team.

 

Live webcast

 

As with all BCPPL events, we are pleased and to offer a free live video webcast of our first XBall event. Your friends and family will be able to follow you and the entire tournament from anywhere in the world.  

 

Host Hotel

 

The official host hotel for 2008 BCPPL events is the Sandman Hotel chain. The Sandman in Langley is offering the best rates around for player's attending E1. This hotel is located off Hwy #1 at the 200th street exit. As with the tournament location, there is tons of restaurants, and other services within walking distance. The hotel itself is 15-20 minutes from the Panther.

 

This hotel group has been a proud supporter of BC paintball the past few years. We strongly encourage all teams to support them.
